Duties and Responsibilities: -Participate in design reviews from concept to advertisement and oversee design development -Lead innovative special assignments and assist in managing 3D/BIM program -Prepare and review construction specifications -Assist in managing annual updates of standards and manuals -Effectively and clearly communicate to wide range of professionals, inside and outside the organization -Work closely with other team members on multi-disciplinary transportation infrastructure projects Talent is the essence of meeting our client’s objectives, goals and challenges. Minimum Qualifications: -Ability to quickly adapt to challenges and problem solve solutions. -Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a closely related field -Licensed Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain in 6 months. -7+ years of design, construction, engineering, architecture, and/or project management experience -Ability to rapidly absorb and interpret technical information -Fluency with modern design and development principles -Ability to manage assignments independently -Ability to read and understand civil/roadway construction plans -Excellent communication and technical writing skills -Proficiency in Microstation, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint -Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures -Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies -Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening. Preferred Qualifications -Knowledge of Illinois Tollway design and construction standards and criteria -Knowledge of the Illinois Department of Transportation Bureau of Design and Environment Manual and AASHTO design criteria -Knowledge of construction field inspection and applicable specifications -Illinois Tollway or IDOT experience About WSP USA WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
