Job DescriptionVersum Materials, a part of the Performance Materials business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, is a best-in-class electronic materials company providing high-purity chemicals and gases, delivery systems, services and materials expertise to meet the evolving needs of the global semiconductor, display and LED markets.Versum Materials is seeking a Process Controls Engineer for our Hometown, PA location.Primary responsibilities:* Assist operations to resolve product quality, reliability and operability issues and sustain 24/7 operation.* Act as an individual technical contributor to identify, develop and design improved operating and control strategies to achieve productivity targets for production systems* Support and execute plant productivity projects.* Project related responsibilities include: participation in P&ID development, Haz Ops and safety assessments/verifications; specification of instrumentation hardware, analyzers and valves as well as the design, configuration and commissioning of the Process Automation System (PAS) and Programmable Electronic Safety System (PES).Additional information/functions:* The successful candidate is responsible for the integration of Control Systems in a Chemical Manufacturing Environment where safety is paramount. This role is also responsible for ensuring systems meet safety and productivity requirements and maintain on-stream targets.* This role will involve commissioning, validation and start-up of control systems.Experience:* Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in the process industry.* Minimum 5 years as a system integrator.* Minimum 5 years of experience in PLC programming design and coding. (Allen Bradley, Modicon, GE, or Siemens PLC's).Educational Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Control Systems EngineeringSpecial Skills/Abilities:* Able to work in a hands-on environment in an operating plant* Able to work in groups, interacting with plant operators, controls engineers, maintenance, production engineers, plant supervision and line management* Must have experience in PID loop and cascade loop tuning. Must have experience with plant optimization projects* Proficient in Control Panel design, electrical wiring schematic, control loop drawings and panel layout. Knowledge of Visio and/or AutoCad is preferred.* Proficient in Human Machine Interface development using one or more the following programs, Wonderware, WinCC, or RsView.* Working Knowledge of National Fire Codes(NFPA) and National Electric Codes (NEC).* Working Knowledge of Microsoft Windows all versions.
