This position is for an Associate Director, Systems Engineering to provide design authority and engineering leadership for our industry leading mission computing and assured multi-core product line portfolios.
Serve as Avionics Portfolio owner for Assured Multicore computing products & Mission Computing product lines
Develop and communicate roadmaps for Assured Multicore and mission computer products and programs
Serve as design authority for Assured Multicore and mission computer products and programs
Lead and advise engineering managers, program managers, business development managers, product line managers, and component architects
Establish trusted and influential relationships with customers and suppliers in the Assured Multicore and mission computer markets
Serve as the primary engineering and technical focal point for executive leadership for Assured Multicore and mission computer products
Coordinate across strategic business units for alignment of portfolio roadmaps and facilitate sharing of technology across the Collins Aerospace enterprise
Basic Qualifications (Required):
Recognized and respected across the industry, customer-base, and Collins Aerospace
Expert in systems engineering and open systems architectures
Broad and deep background in Avionics computing programs, products, and underlying technologies
Experience with avionics system architecture development, and systems, software, and hardware engineering. Able to advise internal programs and customers to develop aircraft system level architectures using Collins and other industry products and COTS components.
Experience with Avionics regulatory and certification requirements: TSO, DO-160, DO254, DO178B/C, and ARP4754?
Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 25% of time)
Ability to obtain US DoD security clearance?
This position requires a Bachelor?s degree in the appropriate discipline and 12 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 10 years of relevant experience.? In the absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience is required.
Broad and deep background in Military Avionics & Helicopters mission computer and Assured multicore programs, products, and underlying technologies.
Experience leading engineering organizations and projects
Experience with product line management
Experience with embedded (low-level) platform software development and/or hardware development
