Participate in the design and execution of research aimed at identifying the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying organ site-specific cancer growth, metastasis and treatment resistance, and developing novel therapeutics. Candidate will be primarily responsible to develop biochemical/molecular methods and tools, conduct both relevant in vitro and in vivo experiments, coordinate activities necessary for the support of lab research and teaching, participate in the analysis and presentation of data, and develop ongoing and new research goals.

Required Qualifications

A Masters degree in the biological sciences or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience demonstrating progressive responsibility.
3-5+ years of experience in biomedical research, preferably lung cancer research.
Extensive experience with biochemical, molecular and cellular biology techniques, including but not limited to: CHIP analysis, co-IP, sub-cloning, vector construction, CRISPR knock in/out, generation of cell lines (e.g. over-expression, knock down/out, conditionally-activatable, etc.), generation of reporter system for high throughput drug screening, generation of transgenic and genetically engineered mouse models, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with bioinformatics analysis using TCGA, GSEA and Metaboanalyst, etc.
Experience with R language
Experience with genetically engineered mouse models

Coordinate the research activities of laboratory personnel including: shared usage and maintenance of equipment, routine procurement of general laboratory supplies, development and maintenance of experimental protocols and regulatory filings, animal procurement and colony management, and provide orientation and instruction on general and technical laboratory procedures to other laboratory staff.

Coordinate and execute the shipment of various biological reagents (antibodies, cells and cDNAs) as well as animal models to collaborating laboratories worldwide; relay salient technical information regarding creation or usage of these reagents and animals.

Organize and present laboratory data at internal and external scientific meetings. Prepare data for publications and assist in the preparation of extramural grant proposals. Participate in the development of general goals for the research project and in the planning of the laboratory work plan, as well as involved in lab teachings.
