The Global Operations Supply Chain Management Team at Collins Aerospace has an immediate opening for a highly motivated engineering candidate with primary focus to support the operations efforts on the raw material and machining development for Military and Commercial out of Production demands. This position will be a direct report to the Supplier Optimization Technical team with a dual position as an integral part of supporting foundry development, New Product Development and production producibility resolution.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve Technical Issues at Raw Material, Casting, Forging and Machining Suppliers
  • Review engineering drawings, 3D designs, and specifications.
  • Create and/or review processing to ensure full compliance to detail parts
  • Coordinate design changes for cost, quality and manufacturability
  • Write and track engineering changes
  • Help identify potential new casting sources
  • Assist with design reviews for New Product Introductions
  • Travel to Collins plant sites or suppliers as needed
  • Qualifications:

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in manufacturing with a technical background
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience related to the Forging, Investment and Sand-Casting or Machining Processes (Aluminum, Magnesium and Steel Alloys)
  • Ability to work independently with suppliers and Collins engineering to resolve technical questions / problems, generate corrective actions and provide closure
  • Comprehension of drawings, specifications, Unigraphics 3D systems and quality requirements
  • Producibility experience related manufacturing processes
  • Education:

  • This position requires a Bachelors degree in engineering or a related discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in engineering or a related and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
