Manages product support of divisional products from product concept to obsolescence. Interfaces with design, process, test, reliability and quality engineering (internally), and customers (externally) to address product issues through product lifetime. Sustains products with product enhancements, cost reduction and yield improvements. This is an ideal role for the engineering professional who is interested in pursuing customer-facing or business career path. Skills & Experience Required:
BS in EE required (MS a plus), with minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in the areas of new product design and/or product introduction and product management. Ideal candidate would have practical experience in product electrical and mechanical design and use analytical problem solving skills to identify root causes and feedback into processes. Self-starter with demonstrated critical thinking skills and ability to independently problem solve. Superior verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present data and status updates articulately and concisely, and the ability to work as part of a team in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Demonstrated ability to deliver timely results in a high-volume production environment, meeting and exceeding the extremely high quality standards that are required in the automotive field. Monitors yields for improvement and early quality problem detection Understands Electronic assemblies manufacturing and failure analysis processes Defines plans and perform first article on electronic assemblies. Product Development
Participates in product design reviews, providing written DFx input to R&D based on industry standards and feedback on existing designs Performs DFMEA/PFMEA Performs EVT and compliance tests and provide detailed articulated reports. Reviews BOM and analyze for RoHS/REACH/Xhina RoHS compliance requirements. Establishes and participates in process to design manufacturing test strategy and implementation Works with R&D to improve product manufacturability & serviceability Implements changes based on feedback learned quality information from existing products into new designs Participates in standing NPI meetings Product Change and Improvement
Qualifies component obsolescence solutions ECO generation and implementation related to quality or product improvement, to design and process modification and component obsolescence Delivers product cost reduction Participates in CCB Define requirements, qualify and implement new firmware releases Participates on Product Quality Teams Owns containment actions and confirmation of sufficient root cause analysis and corrective action plan Conducts detailed failure analysis using various debug and analysis tools and processes for electronic assemblies.
