Our continued growth has created an immediate need for a Project Structural Engineer for our Boston, MA Office.



Responsibilities

  • Prepare engineering calculations and write engineering reports.
  • Perform field work on project sites including active construction sites.

  • Prepare CAD drawings for structural engineering projects.
  • Prepare engineering designs and details.
  • Write Specifications.
  • Perform other assigned tasks.


Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • MS Degree in Structural Engineering a plus.
  • Must have EIT/FE.
  • Massachusetts PE in Structural Engineering a plus.
  • 5 to 7 years experience in structural engineering with a focus on building design in an A/E firm.
  • Experience should include building assessments, new building design, renovation and repair design, and building envelope design.

  • Civil/site structural design experience a plus.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit software.
  • Knowledgeable about the IBC and IEBC Building Codes, including the MA State Building Code.
  • Competent in commonly used structural engineering analysis and design software such as Stadd and RAM.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Must be able to work with other design disciplines such as architects and MEP engineers.
  • Must be able to perform field work, carry weight, crawl, climb ladders, work on construction sites, etc.
  • Ability to work well with clients.
  • Experience designing concrete, masonry, steel, and timber projects.

  • Should have access to a vehicle to attend meetings and job sites.
  • Knowledge of architectural and MEP design drawings in order to coordinate structural designs.

  • Knowledge of destructive and non-destructive testing.
  • Proven time management skills.
  • Self-motivated.
