Thisposition is offered at either Bell s main campus in Fort Worth, Texas or theShelton, Connecticut office. Relocation to the Dallas/Fort Worth area isavailable. For those in the CT area, Bell s Shelton office allowscandidates to work remotely on the same diverse range of exciting programswithout having to relocate. Travel to the main campus in Fort Worth forcoordination meetings, testing, and other on-site activities can be expected. For either location, travel to various suppliers may be expected depending onthe assignment.
TheStructural Dynamics Engineer is responsible for assessing airframe dynamiccharacteristics in support of air vehicle dynamic tuning and vibration control.
Develop and assemble finite element models ofthe airframe, landing gear, vehicle systems, and weapons systems.
Conduct closed-form and finite element modaland forced response analyses to assess air vehicle dynamic tuning, vibrationlevels, and oscillatory load levels.
Analyze and support testing of passive andactive means of vibration control.
Perform flight test data analysis to validatemodels and analytical predictions; provide design guidance for modificationsand improvements based on analysis and tests results.
Assist in planning and execution of componenttests for characterization of spring rates, mass properties, dynamic response,and component vibration qualification.
Support flight test planning and execution,including writing test plans, defining instrumentation and data acquisitionrequirements, assisting in telemetry monitoring, analyzing and interpretingtest data, troubleshooting and resolving dynamics issues, and writing testreports.
Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospaceengineering is preferred. Other equivalent engineering disciplines will beconsidered with applicable experience.
Master s Degree in the Engineering as describedabove is preferred.
At least 9 years of experience in the aerospace industry,particularly rotorcraft, is preferred. Other industry experience will beconsidered.
Dynamic analysis, including model analysis andforced response analysis
