Candidate will be required to act as a junior- to mid-level environmental scientist for projects with a wetland or ecological services component (e.g., wetland identification, delineation, and functional assessments; Section 401/404 permit support; wetland/stream mitigation design and monitoring). Essential duties include the following:

* Assist in performing wetland identification, delineation, and functional assessment investigations in accordance with the USACE 1987 Manual and Regional Supplements. Prepare all associated data sheets and wetland reports.
* Conduct surface water quality/biological assessments (chemistry, macroinvertebrates, and habitat).
* Assist with data compilation and analysis, report writing, permit application preparation, plant community mapping, and database management.
* Substantial travel required up to 50% or more - You are expected to travel for this position, regionally and possibly within the continental U.S.


* A MS degree in biology, wildlife or natural resources


* A BS degree in biology, wildlife or natural resources with one to three years of experience;
* A strong background in environmental impact assessment, permitting, ecological field studies, and planning;
* Familiarity with the use of Global Positioning System to navigate and survey areas;
* Basic skills in field identification of vegetation and wildlife;
* Specialized expertise may be in environmental, terrestrial, wetland, or wildlife sciences;
* Must have demonstrated ability in field data collection and analysis, technical writing; GIS skills helpful;
* Strong oral and written communication/interpersonal skills is a must; and
* Professional and team-oriented work environment.
