As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at DLR Group you will be responsible for leading the design of mechanical systems from schematics through construction administration on a wide range of building types. As part of our integrated design teams you create buildings that elevate the human experience through design.

Position Summary
You'd be responsible for leading the design process of mechanical building systems and preparing detailed and mechanical engineering design calculations and drawings to code.
The successful candidate will:

  • Lead in developing project objectives, goals, and documentation policies.

  • Develop HVAC designs from concept through completion of construction.

  • Prepare detailed engineering reports and narratives.

  • Coordinate HVAC design requirements with architecture, structure and other disciplines.

  • Assist in growing a multi-disciplinary engineering team.

  • Collaborate with integrated team in marketing and business development activities



  • Requirements: 

    Required Qualifications:

  • 8 to 12 years of engineering design experience

  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida and ability to be licensed in other states, as necessary.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering 

  • LEED Accredited Professional and previous experience participating in the LEED or other sustainable rating system process

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer designing HVAC building systems on complex projects

  • Ability to work both independently and effectively in an integrated design team and across multiple offices.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required. 

  • Previous experience with a consulting engineering or A/E firm as a mechanical engineer designing HVAC systems for Commercial Educational (K-12 and Higher Education), Civic Projects, or Government projects (State or Federal)
