The Senior Controls Engineer--PLC Programming utilizes engineering skills to perform production engineering functions for production processes. Develops, coordinates, and implements manufacturing processes, procedures, and techniques including process improvement activities to improve overall efficiency, product quality, productivity, and profitability in accordance with company and customer requirements.
SR. Controls Engineer Responsibilities Perform electrical controls system design, designing control panels for machine and/or process controls including 480VAC motor/power distribution. Design electrical schematics, sensor, and device layouts using AutoCAD. Research, design, test, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) controls systems to meet client or employer needs throughout project or product lifecycle. Use PLC development environments to develop a code base on PLC hardware. Maintain PLC code base by monitoring, identifying and correcting software defects. Work with IEC61131‐3 compliant PLC development environments and functioning conveyor equipment and controls systems. Develop and configure HMI screens in Factory Talk. Develop complete and concise Description of Operation. Understand machine and process requirements needed to control the system appropriately. Startup/Commissioning of control system (within continental US and abroad).
Qualifications Minimum 8+ years’ experience in Control Systems, Design, Installation, Startup/Commissioning, and Trouble Shooting. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or Equivalent in Work Experience of Exemplified Success performing functions. Complete Behavioral Survey and Cognitive Assessment sent after submission of Resume. Eligible to work in US. Valid US Passport or Obtain Passport. Must be able to Pass a Criminal Background Check, Pre-Employment Drug and/or Random Drug Screens. Valid Driver’s License, Transportation. Willing to Travel up to 75% if needed.
