As part of our Enforcement portfolio, we are working on fixed and mobile bus lane enforcement solutions to increase throughput for buses by ensuring full use of their dedicated lanes. We are looking for an Enforcement Solutions Engineer to join our rapidly growing team. Position Overview:The ITS team is recruiting for an Enforcement Solutions Engineer. The Enforcement Solutions Engineer is responsible for the design and deployment of bus lane enforcement solution in New York, but may also coordinate with solutions for other parts of the US or worldwide. The infrastructure and equipment deployed typically utilize the core systems and products from Siemens Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) product portfolio. The role primarily requires the taking of existing products and solutions and deploying these to customers with some degree of customization. A typical installation may require a mix of wireless, wired and fiber optic communications. This would be where the applications engineer applies their expertise to create the solution for a customer from standard building blocks.In this role you will be familiar with Advanced Traffic Management Systems and Enforcement Technology - including Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR), Bus Lane Enforcement, Tolling Technologies and Block-the-Box/Speed Enforcement. The Enforcement Solutions Engineer will report to the Head of the Enforcement Program. We are actively recruiting candidates to be based in New York City.Responsibilities:The Enforcement Solutions Engineer will have the following key responsibilities:•Develop detailed costs and technical solutions, including technical proposal documentation for new customer projects and tenders. •Project delivery. Deliver customer projects in the UK and overseas, working as a key customer facing contact and taking responsibility for delivery against time and financial budgets. Also working within a Project Managed team as the technical lead to deliver larger scope projects and solutions. •Identify and implement process and product change resulting in safety, cost, or customer improvements. •Maintain existing customer relationships through ad-hoc customer support and remote or onsite assistance. Identify opportunities for new business, escalating where appropriate.•Act as technical expert in appropriate products & solutions.•Working in collaboration with other engineering teams, take responsibility for the customer deployment capability of new products, ensuring that project delivery is an important factor in the development requirements. •Proactively share knowledge in a systematic way to grow know-how base and support the wider businessEducation and Qualifications:•Previous experience working with ALPR, CCTV or IT technology•BS/BA in Electrical Engineering or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. •Minimum of 5 years successful experience in the mobility space and successful demonstration of above responsibilities.•Knowledge of Microsoft Operating System and basic networking principles. •Project management qualification (i.e. PMP) is desirable•High level of written and verbal communication skills•Positive outlook – cooperative, helpful, willing to take initiative •Flexibility - willing to change, move from one activity or work area to another, learn new activities, pick up new jobs confidently and easily•Effectiveness - drive and energy applied to work, accuracy and reliability, ability to get things right first time•Teamwork - work towards the team's goals, work well with other people, communicate effectively within the team and contribute to a high standardWhy Siemens?
