This position will perform and bioassay and reagent development for targets in the Skeletal Diseases Therapeutic Focus Area. In addition, this position will perform discovery assays to identify, model and validate new targets and technologies.
This R&D Specialist position will be part of a team interested in understanding how receptor-ligand interactions in the TGFBeta superfamily determine cell fate and ultimately disease. Candidates should be versed in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and Cell Biology techniques. Although the focus of the work will be primarily in vitro, familiarity with animal models (animal handling, phenotyping) are desirable, but not necessary.

Job Duties:

The successful candidate is expected to generate, collect and often present the scientific approach and experimental results from their experiments. They will be expected to work independently as well as part of a team to explore research questions and carryout experiments to answer them. It is essential for this candidate to communicate ideas and data within the team at Regeneron. The ability to work within interdisciplinary teams in both the discovery and development areas is a necessary attribute for this position.

Specific skills include:
Molecular biology techniques, such as those required for the expression of recombinant proteins and the generation of bioassays.
Bioassay development: Cell culture, cell line production and data generation/analysis.
Biochemistry: Expression, analysis and testing the bioactivity of recombinant proteins.

Must have experience and be trained in cell culture and molecular biology.
Must communicate clearly to coworkers in the laboratory and management.
The ability to generate and analyze data. Interpreting that data to determine next steps is highly desireable.
Flow cytometry, cloning, cell culture is a plus, and a desire to understand the molecular details governing signaling dynamics is a must.
Must be able to work effectively as part of a team.

At least a Bachelors degree with 1-2 years of research lab experience
