Were looking for a dynamic individual to join our team. This demanding role is responsible for temperature sensor design and development to meet the needs of our US foundry customers and is based out of our Columbia City location. You will be given the responsibility and freedom to use your technical expertise to lead sensor technology advancement in support of building on Pyroteks established commitment in meeting our customers needs.

Technical Support Engineer Responsibilities

Analyze input from the sales team to recommend products and application best practicesSupport requests for designs, upgrades, performance improvements and cost reduction efforts on behalf of the customerDocument and prepare quotations for new assemblies and products for internal and external customersSupport US Quality department with failure analysis and technical product informationPerform calibration tests with laboratory standards and analyze test data and report to determine if design meets functional performance specificationsDevelop and revise standard operation procedures and ensure manufacturing complianceWork with Operations Manager on managing department inventory, supply requisitions and Work Order kitting of inventory to ensure inventory accuracyWork in collaboration with Operations Manager in review of production orders; types, quantities, specification and delivery dates to produce thermocouple production scheduleCommitment to continuously improving your professional development and successfully execute presentations to both customers and internal partners

Technical Support Engineer Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Customer Service. Passion for providing a high level of customer service and business development activities along with an in-depth understanding of sales principles. Technical Skills. Proficient knowledge of different alloys and applications. Basic blueprint reading skills. Proficient understanding of MIG and TIG welding, as well as high temperature brazing and soldering.Core Business Skills. Ability to work independently, without significant direction and to use resources effectively to figure it out.Core People Skills. Ability to positively interact; work collaboratively with diverse group of people at all levels with internal and external customers. Genuine, with high ethical standards and values and personal integrity and honesty.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in engineering, business or technical discipline, plus 4 years of related sensors experience in a technical or process related industryExperience with ASTM 14.03, ASTM E230, ASTM 2750EWhile a plus, prior aluminum or foundry experience is not required
