Overview and Responsibilities

Do you love film? Do you have excellent experience in digital archives? If so, the Executive Director, Digital Archives role could be perfect for you! This position will be responsible for the integrity and continuous evolution of Paramount's digital asset archive, including reporting, management, enhancements, migration to the cloud, other cloud-based initiatives, analytics and metadata. The position coordinates a team of metadata, analytics and digital asset management specialists.

Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
  • Sets direction and implementation of archive analytics and AI
  • Develops solutions for, works with IT to implement, and leads cloud-based asset management solutions
  • Leads all aspects of standards impacting assets and metadata
  • Vets and handles all metadata-oriented requirements for Tech Ops.
  • Working with the SVP of Asset Management and other colleagues, sets policies for digital preservation
  • Reviews all standards and standard methodologies including metadata and workflow standards. Recommends best practices and maintains updates of compliance with industry standards
  • Collaborates closely with Archive senior management to make policies and procedures are in line with all archive initiatives
  • Acts as key representative to Tech Ops on metadata
  • Pro-actively works across Tech Ops to ensure work is in coordination with other initiatives
  • Runs change control / configuration management meetings as necessary to capture operating group requirements and make implementation decisions
  • Defines content and application security policy within inventory systems
  • Maintains preservation storage Maintains attribute inheritance and minimum/duplicate metadata rules
  • Supports operational reporting as needed
  • Works with Information Technology partners to implement configuration items
  • Supports key technical operations projects
  • Works with operational managers of the Archive and Distribution systems to improve optimization efficiency
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in math, statistics, computer science, engineering, library and information sciences or equivalent experience in data science or analytics related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Studio Technical Operations or Post Production Department working with Digital "File Based" Media within system supported file based workflows

Additional Qualifications
  • Must have strong analytical skills
  • Experience with SQL, HTML, Shell Scripting, Databases, Reporting Systems and Programming
  • Professional experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Graphing Toolsets
  • Ability to communicate with IT resources related to the definition and implementation of requirements and functional design within the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Interest or background in library or archival sciences is a major plus
