Job Description
Advanced/Senior:
Provide timely, high quality, customer service-based engineering solutions for Facilities and Infrastructure Projects
Primarily providing engineering oversight for the design of capital improvement projects that construct and upgrade training and support facilities
Work with or lead multidisciplinary teams in support of projects that construct or upgrade these facilities
Work closely with subcontracted engineering and architectural firms as well as facility end users, compliance staff and operations engineering to develop integrated final designs of mechanical infrastructure
Support the bid and procurement process for construction, engineering field support for the construction phase, commissioning and project close out
Job Requirements
Advanced:
BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years relevant experience; or
MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years relevant experience
Working knowledge of New York State Mechanical Code
Experienced with the development of engineering documents (e.g. engineering analysis, technical specifications, functional requirements, cost estimates, equipment maintenance requirements and engineering sketches)
Senior:
BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of six years relevant experience; or
MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years relevant experience
Desire to share technical knowledge with less experienced staff
Experience with codes and standards governing infrastructure systems (steam and condensate, compressed air, demineralized water, drinking water, sanitary)
Experience with ASME B31 series, Ten State Standards, applicable NFPA
Experienced with development of engineering documents (e.g. engineering analysis, technical specifications, functional requirements, cost estimates, equipment maintenance requirements and engineering sketches)
Job Preferred Skills
Advanced and Senior Level Engineer:
Working knowledge of Pressure System Testing Requirements and Relief Valve Requirements
Strong interpersonal and teaming skills and the ability to coordinate multi-disciplined teams
strong written and verbal communication skills
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) registration
Familiarity with appropriate engineering software computer tools
