Advanced/Senior:

  • Provide timely, high quality, customer service-based engineering solutions for Facilities and Infrastructure Projects
  • Primarily providing engineering oversight for the design of capital improvement projects that construct and upgrade training and support facilities
  • Work with or lead multidisciplinary teams in support of projects that construct or upgrade these facilities
  • Work closely with subcontracted engineering and architectural firms as well as facility end users, compliance staff and operations engineering to develop integrated final designs of mechanical systems
  • Support the bid and procurement process for construction, engineering field support for the construction phase, commissioning and project close out
  • Job Requirements

    Advanced:

  • BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years relevant experience; or
  • MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years relevant experience
  • Experience with the design and maintenance of heating ventilation and air conditioning systems for commercial and industrial applications
  • Knowledge of building automation systems
  • Working knowledge of New York State Mechanical Code and ASHRAE Fundamentals
  • Experienced with the development of engineering documents (e.g. engineering analysis, technical specifications, functional requirements, cost estimates, equipment maintenance requirements and engineering sketches)
  • Senior:

  • BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of six years relevant experience; or
  • MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years relevant experience
  • Experience with HVAC system selection, design and maintenance for class room, commercial, computer room and industrial applications
  • Experience with building automation system operation, open/closed loop water treatment, air filtration and steam systems
  • Strong working knowledge of the New York State Codes (PC, MC, EB, ECC), ASHRAE (Fundamentals, 15, 34, 62, 90.1), ASME 31.9, ACGIH Ventilation and Plumbing Systems
  • Desire to share technical knowledge with less experienced staff
  • Experienced with development of engineering documents (e.g. engineering analysis, technical specifications, functional requirements, cost estimates, equipment maintenance requirements, engineering sketches, energy studies, and ECM payback evaluations)
  • Job Preferred Skills

    Advanced and Senior Level Engineer:

  • Working knowledge of Guiding Principles Requirements, Pressure System Testing Requirements and Relief Valve Requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and teaming skills and the ability to coordinate multi-disciplined teams
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) registration
  • Certified Energy Manager Certification
  • Familiarity with appropriate engineeringsoftware computer tools
