Great opportunity for a driven and intelligent Field Engineer to learn from a senior leadership team who have over 40+ years' experience in the Chicago market. This Assistant Project Manager will only complete estimating on a 'as need' basis, which gives this Assistant Project Manager complete freedom to take control of all aspects of a project. Moreover, this position will be highly visible from an ownership perspective as the Owner and CFO will be directly involved in your mentorship.

Simply put, they are looking for a Field Engineer that wants to grow within a firm, get mentored by senior leadership, has a great work ethic and be a part of a company that has grown from 6 people in early 2000's to over 180 in 2018. Moreover, by primarily acting as the General Contractor but having the ability as to act as a Sub if necessary, they complete over a $100M in revenue per year with 4 asphalt plants around the Chicagoland area which provides a steady stream of revenue adding to their already thriving portfolio.

Description

  • Receive, review, forward and track status of submittals during project life cycle
  • Initiate, prepare, review, track and distribute RFIs
  • Assist in management of project permit process
  • Assist in preparations of bid packages and procurement
  • Assist in cost control and cost management systems
  • Administrative duties including receiving, reviewing, and preparing quotations and change orders
  • Preparation of monthly owner project status reports, as required, for approval by Project Manager
  • Attend and/or lead project meetings if required
  • Assist in development and maintenance of site logistics plan, in coordination with Project Manager and Superintendent
  • Complete standard close out procedures

Profile

  • Functions effectively as part of a team with no ego and a willingness to learn
  • Computer proficient and the ability to adapt to new processes
  • HCSS or B2W estimating skills preferred
  • Strong written, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrates good management and leadership skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • General understanding of industry standards across the Civil field
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality always with certain pieces of company information
  • Bachelor of Science in Construction or Engineering preferred, but experience may be considered in lieu of same
  • 3+ years of industry experience preferred
