The QC Microbiologist is a full-time position with a local pharmaceutical, prescription food and supplement manufacturer. Responsible for inspection and microbial testing of all raw materials for production. This will include physical examination, review of C of A's and microbiological examination. Will also perform assays on customer complaints and conduct environmental microbiological testing program. Responsible to determine tests to be performed, prepare, culture and examine samples, review supplier documents, create Raw Material Inspection Reports and reports for submission to chemistry for release on manufactured products. Recognize and initiate OOS/Lab Failure documentation, organize and maintain data files, responsible for media and reagent preparation, QC and storage for in-house and purchased products, maintain instrumentation, environment and related QC logbooks.
HS Dip or GED,
BS in Biology, Chemistry or related field,
plus 2-4 years of similar experience is Required.
Familiar with manufacturing process and QA/QC procedures, purchasing procedures as relate to raw materials, microbiology lab procedures and practices, lab equipment, Strong communication skills, written and verbal
Excellent technical writing skills and ability to interpret testing results.
Detail oriented and accountable.
Strong computer skills, including MS Office software
Computers: MS Office, Word and Excel, experience with general or proprietary lab, manufacturing and/or purchasing databases.
Strong keyboarding skills, accurate data entry.
Dress: Lab Coat/Clean Room
