Mechanical Engineer Asc
Employment Type: Full-Time
This mechanical engineer will work as part of an engineering team to develop mechanical design solutions to a variety of problems related to undersea hull arrays, towed arrays, and transducers. Tasks may involve new designs or modifications to existing designs. The individual will be expected to work collaboratively with mechanical engineers as well as representatives from Manufacturing, Quality, Drafting and other engineering disciplines. The candidate must be proficient with the use of personal computers including word processing and spreadsheets and in documenting work performed for review and archiving. Examples of any previous work that demonstrates the ability to understand and meet design requirements, scheduled milestones and budgets is a must. Knowledge of computer design and analysis tools, especially PRO/E and ANSYS and experience working in a design for manufacturing environment are desirable. Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's level degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Mechanical (Design) Engineering:
- PRO-Engineer (CREO) or equivalent
- Structural or Thermal Analysis experience
- Working knowledge of material properties
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong problem solving skills.
Familiarity with MS Office Suite.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance. Desired Skills:
A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher is preferred but not required.
Experience working on undersea hull array, towed array, or acoustic sensor programs
