Weld Engineer We are looking for an experienced Engineer to Manage and Monitor all welding equipment and processes to ensure they are meeting or exceeding expectations for production and quality standards. This will include all welding processes MIG/TIG/Laser, material handling, stud welding and finish. The successful candidate will be able to improve welding processes and maintain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability and maximize profitability. Essential Job Functions include the following: Create and maintain consistent clear set up instructions. Create the standard template or method to communicate to the operators how the machines, fixturing and part processes are to be used. Create programs needed for the process using a standard method and any logic needed for the set up. Create weld schedules and record process all processes. Manage the timely and professional communication of project status with customers, vendors and management team. Develop solutions and determine proper weld sequences for cycle time and part requirement Weekly or daily if needed calibration completed to maintain accuracy of the equipment to help maintain the accuracy and consistancy of the programs Monitor and maintain working condition of equipment to ensure that it is in proper use. Complete training needed for operators to ensure they have skills needed to complete their daily tasks. Audit and evaluate operators daily to validate they are following standard procedures. Work with the engineering and estimating to develop cost effective tooling that is repeatable and productive. Review product design and implement labor / quality improvements. Support customer design to build in MFG ease. Perform other duties as needed or assigned. Qualifications Candidates must have 3-5 years of engineering experience in sheet metal or related fabrication industry. Mig/Tig Welding and Metallurgical experience with aluminum, stainless steel, or nickel-based materials required. CWI or CWE certifications preferred Technical knowledge and experience reading blueprints, drawings, and GD&T Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with 5 or more years experience in manufacturing, preferably metal fabrication; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Microsoft Office Suite, ERP, CRM, and experience with Solidworks required . Additional CAD/CAM systems Inventor, Catia, MasterCam, P.E.P, Pro-E/Creo a plus. Job Specifics Ability to accurately scope out the length and difficulty of tasks and projects, set objectives and goals and break down work into the process steps necessary to get things done. Will work in conjunction with the team leaders to ensure the welding machines and operators are achieving established goals for throughput and quality. Will work in conjunction with other engineers to ensure the fixtures needed for the jobs are adequate to meet production needs, quality requirements and repeatability standards. Will work injunction with estimating to ensure we can achieve cost effective quotes to meet processes. Will work with the team leads to ensure we can train and keep our employee skill and knowledge to set goals. Cost Consciousness - Able to understand budget requirements.
