We are seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Audit Specialist based in Boston (MA), Rahway (NJ) or West Point (PA), although alternative locations may be considered. This position will report into the EHS Audit Program Lead, and will assist to develop and implement systems, programs, and monitoring of performance with respect to key performance indicators. The ideal candidate possesses a proven track-record of EHS expertise, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization. A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Driving environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance performance excellence by conducting EHS audits as well as assisting the business with risk assessments, self-assessments, and gap assessments
  • Planning and conducting audits at company operations located throughout North America and Latin America
  • Providing constructive feedback to facility and business leaders to support continuous improvement at each site while supporting and encouraging the challenge process
  • Creating consistently high-quality audit reports that are insightful, accurate, concise and are delivered on a timely basis
  • Developing audit tools, assist with continual improvement of compliance standards and key controls, and assist with development and implementation of compliance assurance strategies
  • Training and mentoring site auditors and guest auditors

Partners with management, identifies and communicates potential improvements opportunities, leveraging best practices across the organization. Ability and confidence to stop work if findings require immediate remediation due to a hazardous nature or to escalate matters for further guidance before proceeding with the remainder of the audit. Participates in special projects and investigations on an as-needed basis. Is a resource to the department to develop audit plan for resolution within the time constraints.


  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, environmental management, health and safety or closely related field
  • Three to five years experience in quality engineering, safety or environmental auditing/assessing programs and systems.
  • Experience in hazard communication,
  • Compliance assurance and fundamentals of auditing, industrial and local jurisdiction standards for inspection and testing.
  • Applicable EHS codes and operations practice in chemical manufacturing or pharmaceutical environments.
  • Responding to inquiries and in effective oral and written communication.
  • Must be willing to travel ~ 50%

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s Degree or higher in Engineering or Safety
  • Compliance certification/s (CIH, CSP)
  • Audit experience - ISO certification requirements, and internal auditing
