The primary responsibility of this CFM Defect Engineer position is to setup and implement effective defect monitoring strategy for 14/7nm advanced technology nodes in Malta.
Essential Responsibilities: Formulate effective inline defect inspection/monitoring/control strategy & methodology to support advanced technology development and volume manufacturing activities Evaluate defect inspection/review effectiveness from leading edge E-beam, Bright and Dark field Defect Inspection and SEM review tools for advanced semiconductor nodes Drive continuous improvement to streamline CFM workflow on defect detection efficiency and defect monitoring Work with CFM, Process Integration, Advanced Module Engineering teams to establish DOIs and drive to improve capture rate and to reduce nuisance Design, execute and analyze partition studies to evaluate process results or equipment baseline performances with a view to achieve industry competitive standards Provide effective leadership and mentorship for defect technicians executing defect scans or data reviews in support of the program Required hands-on for day to day review of information, evaluation of defect monitoring strategies and understanding of defect mechanisms with the mindset of making a difference Required to work in a clean-room environment to supervise, execute or oversee activities Positions include shift schedules, including evenings and weekends. Required Qualifications: Education / Experience : BSinEngineering or related technical fields Language Fluency Fluent in English Language written & verbal Candidates for this position are expected to work in night shift system including weekend coverage. Minimum two plus years of experience Ability to relocate to Malta, NY
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge/experience of semiconductor processing, Contamination Free Manufacturing, defect inspection and analysis, process integration and/or yield engineering. Proven record in a semiconductor industry leader is strongly preferred Excellent data analysis and problem solving skills; attention to detail.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a globally matrixed environment Proven success collaborating with cross functional teams Experience with advanced E-beam, bright field and dark field inspection platforms including tool maintenance and recipe development. Expertise in optical defect scan and E-beam inspection tools are strongly desired Working experience in CMOS process and process module/equipment (200mm/300mm) are strongly desired Working knowledge in statistic, Statistical Process Control or Design of Experiment methodology is preferred Prior employment in a vendor specializing in defect tool applications would have a strong advantage
