Do you like to follow the rules? We re seeking a stickler for standards and regulations to provide leadership and project planning for EMC, wireless, laser and satcom compliance throughout the development process. The senior compliance engineer partners with senior project managers to deliver best-in-class wearable tech, GPS navigation, wireless video, driving recorder platforms and connected services using wireless radio technologies such as Bluetooth Low Energy, classic Bluetooth, ANT+ and Wi-Fi.

We are looking for a full-time Senior Regulatory Compliance Engineer . In this role you will be responsible for creating and implementing complex regulatory compliance plans for major product development programs. Other essential functions include:

  • Contributes to advanced regulatory and standards research on new technologies, markets and geographic regions

  • Provides clear options and leadership for recovery plans as needed, displaying excellence in project management (identifying critical milestones, gating items and priorities, determining deadlines for deliverables on critical path, and communicating to cross-functional team members)

  • Identifies compliance related risks, effectively communicates it and suggests best means for avoiding or reducing the risk

  • Leads compliance plan reviews and safety design review meetings for individual products, early in the design cycle

  • Mentors and provides guidance to less experienced Compliance Engineers (levels 1 & 2)

  • Effectively communicates the dependencies of other departments' deliverables on our project milestones and vice versa

  • Qualifications

    Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or another relevant field from a four-year college or university AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR Master of Science Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or another relevant engineering field AND a minimum of 4 years relevant experience. Other requirements include:

  • Must possess experience in providing direction and taking the lead on regulatory input during the product design process. Experience with BT SIG Certification, Wi-Fi Alliance, or other short range devices, IEEE Ethernet compliance, ESD, EMC, EMI and product safety testing and country certifications or homologations

  • Understands manufacturing and supply chain issues as they relate to phase-in of compliance-driven design changes

  • Experience reviewing nearly all EMC and safety design aspects for circuit design and PCB layout

  • Ability to explain and document regulatory and standards requirements

  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • AOEM Certification is required

  • IMDS experience is strongly preferred

  • Previous experience with 4G/LTE, PTCRB, GCF, CTIA, global registrations and/or CDRH approvals and reporting as well as iNARTE certification in EMC and/or Product Safety is a plus!
