This is Professional Civil Engineering position with a working title of Project Engineer. The Project Engineer will serve as the Lead Design Engineer on Departmental projects and perform advanced and complex professional civil engineering work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. The primary responsibility involves a variety of advanced engineering duties associated with performing or reviewing the engineering design of Departmental projects for the reclamation of abandoned mine lands and associated mine-water impacts. Projects include, but are not limited to, surface mine reclamation, mine fire control, mine subsidence control, closure of mine openings, and waterline extension/water supply replacement. Duties may also include abandoned mine drainage (AMD) remediation, active and passive AMD treatment facilities, evaluation, operation, monitoring, maintenance, and/or rehabilitation of existing passive and active AMD treatment systems. PA residency requirement Minimum Experience and Training Requirement: Two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor'sdegree in civil engineering or a closely-related engineering discipline;?OR Five years of civil engineering experience, in the appropriate specialty, and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely-related engineering discipline;?OR?Six years of civil engineering experience, in the appropriate specialty, and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists;?OR An equivalent combination of experience and training. Minimum Experience and Training Requirement: This position?requires possession of a valid driver's license. This position requires possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
