Kelly Engineering has a GREAT contract-to-hire opportunity with an AMAZING supervisor located in Troy, MI Plant/Maintenance Engineering Technician JOB SUMMARY The Maintenance Technician is responsible for routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on buildings, mechanical equipment and utility systems for both the Technical Center and Administration buildings. The Maintenance Technician assists the Facility Team Leader with building support activities and may also assist lab personnel with test setups, test fixtures and test monitoring as required. Work is performed in a fast paced environment within tight time constraints. The ability to work unusual hours and overtime may be required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Perform minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment. Major repairs are performed under the supervision of licensed maintenance workers. 2. Perform preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc.; repair or replace broken parts. 3. Replace broken windows; repair doors, door locks and closets; some light plumbing is required. 4. Repairs electrical equipment and control circuits; replaces faulty electrical switches; repairs refrigeration equipment. 5. May repair electrical locks and control panels to maintain building security. 6. Assists with the renovation/remodeling of buildings; repairs plaster and drywall; paints building structures. 7. Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required. May obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts; orders parts as needed. 8. May fabricate test fixtures utilizing tool room machinery and/or repair welded joints. 9. Operate fork truck 10. Completes daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures. 11. Performs outside custodial duties such as snow removal as required. 12. Actively participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities. 13. Provide support to other positions as assigned 14. Must successfully complete all required training. 15. Must comply with all work rules, policies and procedures. 16. Must comply with all safety rules and regulations 17. Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 1. Ability to operate forklift. 2. Proper use of common hand and power tools. 3. Safety practices common to building maintenance. 4. Understand and follow written and oral instructions. 5. Ability to perform routine and preventive maintenance. 6. Ability to use basic tool room machines band saw, drill press, lathe, welder, etc. 7. Professional verbal and written communication skills. 8. Knowledge of TS16949 procedures and instructions helpful. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 1. High School Diploma required. Associates degree in technical or business is preferred 2. Experience with using all tool room machinery 3. Forklift experience 4. Valid Drivers License
