About the role:The Research Scientist II will support execution of neuromodulation research projects (computational, preclinical, and exploratory clinical studies). The successful candidate will primarily focus in the area of deep brain stimulation, supporting future technologies and participating in the definition and execution of multiple projects that address strategic, scientific, and technological needs for the organization. Your responsibilities include: Independently drive and execute complex neuromodulation research projects of the following types:Computational modeling studiesCollaborative pre-clinical studiesExploratory clinical studiesCollaborate with multiple engineers within R&D to satisfactorily plan and design aforementioned studies including projections of timeline and budgetDevelopment and documentation of neurostimulation system and/or algorithm requirementsServe as a subject matter expert on neuromodulation therapies to support product development and regulatory submissionsSupport external collaborations with academic institutions or private partners as needed to answer scientific questionsSupport organization needs for scientific and technology presentations and trainings designed to foster understanding the capabilities and application of our technology Participate in writing, submitting, and/or presenting, in journals publications and at key scientific conferencesSubmit invention disclosures related to the aforemention research, and support formal submission activitiesLearn to use system development tools as needed for specific projectsSupport investigation of complaints and concerns aiming to provide appropriate and feasible mitigations or solutionsIn all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures What we're looking for:QualificationsMS Degree in biomedical engineering, neuroscience or related area, PhD Degree preferred1+ years of demonstrated experience in neural engineering is highly desirable.Ideal candidate would have research experience in neurological disordersDemonstrated success working in a highly collaborative environment, with a track record of accomplishments with measurable business impactStrong technical competency and demonstrated project leadership competency is required with a sense of personal accountabilityMust be able to take complex technical problems and design practical solutions where no precedent may existMust have excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skillsMust possess project management skills including successful leadership of projects from planning phase through completion About usAs a global medical technology leader for more than 35 years, our mission at Boston Scientific (NYSE: BSX) is to transform lives through innovative medical solutions that improve the health of patients.
