The Boeing Experimental Systems Group (ESG) is seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Lead (Level 4) to support development of new first-of-kind space vehicles and missions. ESG supports a variety of government customers spanning technology domains, and is an extremely fast-paced, responsive development environment delivering new capabilities to customers rapidly and affordably. The ESG portfolio consists of a range of platforms and technologies including the X-37B, the world’s first fully autonomous reusable spaceplane, which just completed its record-setting fifth flight in October.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • MBSE model owner responsible for leading model development for a major development program
  • Coordinates model use and ownership across multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPT)
  • Guides model structure and key model focus areas
  • Develop automated data validation/consistency scripts
  • Enable data connectivity between MBSE database and external tools and models
  • Share MBSE best practices, lessons learned and serve as an MBSE mentor for ESG Systems Engineering
  • Develop and present review packages to internal and external senior leadership
  • Relocation:

    This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. (Basic relocation is available for internal candidates, based on candidate eligibility.)

    This position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) that has been successfully completed within the last 5 years. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

    Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
  • Experience developing a system architecture and models in an MBSE tool using SysML.
  • Preferred (Preferred) Qualifications:

  • Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler
  • Familiarity with SQL/Access, MATLAB, C++, C#, Java
  • Experience validating models
  • Typical Education/Experience:

    Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
