Job Title:Director of Package Engineering and Labeling

Department: Global Supply Chain & Logistics

Reports To:Director of Supply Chain, Commercial Planning

Education Required:

Master s degree and 8 years of Engineering experience or Bachelor s degree or and 12 years of Engineering experience

5-10 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources preferably within the biotech, pharmaceutical, CRO, industry.

General Description:

The Packaging Engineering Director leads a team responsible for the clinical and commercial packaging for drug substance, drug product, primary container/closure and final product presentations by:
  • Identifying and driving development efficiencies through the utilization of standard processes in the commercialization and lifecycle manage BeiGene products in alignment with the overall manufacturing capability of BeiGene operations globally.
  • Creation and implementation of a long-term packaging development strategy to ensure that BeiGene is an industry leader in this area.
  • Working cross functionally with commercial, regulatory, finance, clinical, quality as well as across BeiGene to develop products that create a successful patient experience.
  • Developing annual goals and strategic direction for the packaging organization aligning with the company overall strategy.
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
  • Directing the Design, qualification and implementation of packaging designs aligning with the product strategy.
  • The Pursuit of packaging technologies that will drive innovation and gain efficiencies in manufacturing operations.
  • Consistently deliver results aligned with company program goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the packaging processes from project initiation through launch as well as life cycle management in alignment with regulatory and commercial manufacturing requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a high performing team with experience in package engineering and label development that are professionally and technically competent.
  • Accomplish goals within a team first environment and with respect for all members.
  • Identify resource requirements to deliver on program portfolio and negotiate resource assignments from leadership.
  • Deliver progress reports and presentations ensuring that management is aware of the current status, progress and future needs of projects and the organization.
  • Identify and ensure area of responsibility complies with the most current standards and company policies.
  • Author regulatory documents in support of product applications.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to ensure consultants, contract manufacturers, and external business partners comply with business standards and requirements.

Other Qualifications: Due to global nature of company early morning or evening meeting may be required.
