Aerospace Quality Engineer - BPM

The Quality Engineer â€“ A&D (Aerospace and Defense) is responsible for the maintenance, development and administration of all quality assurance systems related to the Aerospace and Defense segment of the company with a focus on operational excellence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Champion AS9100 and quality and performance alongside preparing the site for AS9100 Rev. D Compliance.Develop measurement methodologies for all new and existing products assuring adequate documentation to meet all requirements of regulatory bodies including AS9100 Rev D and ISO 9001:2015, customer requirements and QMS system. Determine frequency and allowable variations from specifications at various stages of the manufacturing process.Provide justification and purchasing recommendations for gaging and measurement equipment. Provide training to quality, production and engineering teams to most efficiently and correctly use gages and measuring equipment.Generates protocols, reports, and SOPs; reviews protocols, SOPs, product specifications, and records.Support first article testing, test analysis, manufacturing processes, process documentation, project workflow and shipping/receiving. Develop quality plans by conducting analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical limits; monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures; and monitoring inventory quality.Provides the QA engineering resources to maintain and improve both the process and product quality for customers and suppliers.Reviews customersâ€™ requests for quotation for requirements, standards, special inspection gauging requirements, and completeness of specifications.Works with Sales & Marketing and customer to resolve unclear/conflicting specifications.Perform audits, determine non-conformities and take corrective actions during internal, supplier, and regulatory body audits including providing proper QMS required documentation (includes providing root cause analysis and deployment of corrective and preventative actions on our internal CAR, SCAR and DMR processes).Analyze and resolve quality problems and / or assist workers in solving quality problems and assess training needs to effectively address quality system issues.Drive continuous improvement of the QMS and serve as management representative to the Quality System registrar.Develop quality plans by: conducting analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical limits; monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures; and monitoring inventory quality.Correlates in-house and customers measurements.Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:Bachelorâ€™s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 5 yearsâ€™ experience in an ISO or AS9100-certified manufacturing environment, including primary responsibilities for metrology.ISO Auditor Certification, ASQ, CQE, CQA or CQIA certification preferred.Hands on experience with M&TE and ToolingWorking knowledge of SPC, Design of Experiments, Gage Design, and Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility Studies.Experience in product and process audits.Experience in following / maintaining an ISO 9001, AS9100 Quality Management System.Effective communication skills: listening, writing, speaking and oral presentations
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of Basin Precision organization.
