SUMMARY

The Product Engineer, Electromechanical is responsible for ensuring that electronics-based Electrical, Mechanical, and Multiphysics workflows and solutions meet design specifications and are within quality management limits and standards. Responsibilities include planning and performing manual testing of complete workflows, developing and executing comprehensive suites of automation test plans and test cases, maintaining and adding to existing automation framework, continued evaluation of test cases for inclusion in regression, automation for newly integrated features, and development of tool sets to augment QA and Development testing. The Product Engineer will also work closely with Software Developers and other Product Engineers to deliver the highest quality products in a timely and cost-effective manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, document, and apply customized testing procedures to perform unit, integration, performance, functionality, and acceptance testing of electrical and mechanical workflows on all supported hardware platforms.
  • Investigate, prioritize, and assign software defect reports and enhancement requests.
  • Understand and reproduce product defects, and work with developers to determine the best resolution.
  • Communicate with Software Developers and Application Engineers to resolve moderately complex product issues.
  • Track and report metrics measuring the quality and release status of software products under development.
  • Approve product releases from development when feature specifications and quality standards are reached.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in engineering, or related technical field, or a Bachelor's degree with three years of professional experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical physics principles.
  • Scripting knowledge using VBScript and Python.
  • Skills in project planning and implementation.
  • Fluency with Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
  • Strong organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Master's degree is preferred
  • Knowledge of electromechanical and motor design is a plus
  • Familiarity with analysis tools, such as ANSYS Maxwell, Mechanical, and Icepak is a plus
